God is the All-Pervading Power that
controls every aspect of Creation. Who is the author of evil? (2 Samuel
12:11, Amos 3:6, Isaiah 45:7).
The only answer the
Middle-age reformers could provide when confronted with Biblical examples of
God's seemingly irrational behavior, was that man's exercise of reason was
detrimental to his salvation.
“A man's steps are directed by
the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?” (Prov 20:24 NIV).
It is important to question/prove all
things and seek truth above man-made doctrines.
Is Creation set forth in accordance with a
higher Divine Plan or simply a means for God to show his power and
superiority? From this perspective, man’s existence is reduced to that of a
mere puppet.
All errors and misconceptions in this world
are according to Divine Will – God hardens our hearts to follow false
council (“saved” or “sinner” – eternal damnation to the fires of hell).
In seeing the immorality and wickedness in
this world, what right do we have to condemn those that act according to the
Will of God? How is man held responsible for the Hand of God moving the
course of his life?
The foundational tenet of
the very anti-Gnostic and anti-Scriptural modern Christian doctrine is that
man cannot be certain of anything. Luther and
Calvin – in Christian doctrine it is said that the ways of God are
unknowable and that Reason should be abolished.
